Mindfulness shows a way clear of all that has been created by past thoughts and deeds. It is a way to tend the garden of your mind.

Intention Therapy is a means towards rooting out the weeds of destructive: patterns, tendencies, beliefs, and identities. Read more

P rofessionally: I have over fifteen years of experience in the health care field.  I have worked as a mental health therapist as well as an addictions counselor. I have also worked with people with infectious diseases, primarily HIV and AIDS for both the Center for Disease Control and Florida's Department of Health.  At the beginning of the epidemic, I was actively involved in developing the counseling and testing techniques of the state of Florida. Currently I provide services to active military and their families. Prior to that I was worked with the University of South Florida’s Pediatric Programs and have been the Regional Program Director for an outpatient program with over 1000 patients, with locations in Pinellas and Pasco Counties. The programs I have run provided psychiatric treatment, medication management, individual counseling, group counseling, couples counseling, case management and a host of other essential services. I have had the opportunity to be the primary administrator for nursing, counseling, and psychiatry. The administration of this broad spectrum in addiction and mental health outpatient programs has, and continues to provide me with the ability to see things from a variety of contexts. Overseeing a staff of counselors, nurses, and psychiatrists has allowed me to gain expertise in almost all essential services. There is not much that we don’t see, and it is rare that we turn anyone away because we lack the expertise to address their particular issues or concerns.

I have bachelor’s degrees in psychology, social work and women's' studies and a master degree and both public health and mental health; as well as a large variety of relevant certifications.

T herapeutic Style: Because of the variety of people that I have seen in the capacity of a counselor I have developed a person-centered approach that is solution oriented.  What I mean by this is I am very interested in helping you recognize the issues you are having problems with and helping you develop a path you believe you can follow to get resolution for your issues. My primary goal is helping you with personal growth through a creative respectful approach that integrates a wonderful variety of techniques best applied as the problem presents and we define it!
